Sitara Innovations (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the SMMP (Sitara Machinery Marketplace Portal) mobile application (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our B2B marketplace Service to you.

    • Phone number
    • Business details (Company Name, Registration ID)
  • Location Data: We may use and store information about your location if you give us permission to do so (“Location Data”). We use this data to provide features of our Service, such as showing nearby machinery listings and calculating distance. You can enable or disable location services at any time through your mobile device settings.
  • Photos and Media: We access your camera and photo library if you grant permission, solely to allow you to capture and upload photos of your machinery, equipment, and profile pictures.
  • Chat Messages: We store and process messages, offers, and attachments sent between buyers and sellers within the app’s secure chat room to facilitate business transactions.

2. Use of Data

SMMP uses the collected data for various purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our Service.
  • To notify you about changes to our Service.
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features of our Service (such as in-app B2B chat).
  • To provide customer support.
  • To gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our Service.
  • To monitor the usage of our Service and detect, prevent, and address technical or safety issues.

3. Sharing and Transfer of Data

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to—and maintained on—computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.

We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose your Personal Data to third-party services that perform functions on our behalf, including:

  • Firebase (Google): For database hosting, authentication, push notifications, and analytics.
  • Google Maps API: To provide location-based search and maps.
  • Payment Gateways (Stripe/Razorpay/PhonePe): To process premium membership packages or subscriptions.

4. Security of Data

The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

5. Data Deletion and Retention

We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

  • Account Deletion: You can request the deletion of your account and associated listings directly through the app settings, or by contacting us at our support email. Upon request, we will delete your personal data from our active databases within 30 days.

6. Children’s Privacy

Our Service is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18 (“Children”). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this policy.
