Foundation & Growth

- Incorporated in 1981, the complex is spread over 86 acres of land.

1981
Commercial Production Begins

- Started commercial production of Caustic Soda Plant at 30 MT/day.

1985
Expansion into Bleaching Powder

- First Bleaching Powder plant was installed with a 12 MT/day capacity.

1986
Capacity Expansion & New Product Line

- Caustic Soda Plant capacity enhanced to 56 MT/day.

- First Ammonium Chloride plant established with a production capacity of 10 MT/day.

1988
Strengthening Production Capacity

- Caustic Soda Plant capacity increased to 96 MT/day by installing another plant of 40 MT/day.

- Spinning unit of Sitara Chemical was established.

1990
Excellence & Growth Recognition

- 1st Time winner of “Top 25 Companies Corporate Excellence Award” by KSE.
- Caustic Soda Plant capacity increased to 108 MT/day by gradual increase in capacities.

1993
Workforce Development & Textile Expansion

- SCIL was registered as Apprenticeship Technical Training Center.
- Textile Division started its operations.

1994
Innovation in Caustic Soda Processing

- Caustic Soda Flakes Solidification – M-3 was started with 40 MT/day.

1995
Major Production Boost

- Production capacity increased to 192 MT/day by BM Membrane-Based Plant.

1997
Quality & Compliance Milestone

- Certification on ISO 9001 QMS – Quality Management System.

1998
Financial & Corporate Excellence

- Transforming from conventional banking to Islamic Banking.
- Best Presented Accounts Award by Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.
- 2nd Time winner of “Top 25 Companies Corporate Excellence Award” by KSE.

2000
Industry Leadership Recognition

- 3rd Time winner of “Top 25 Companies Corporate Excellence Award” by KSE.
- SCD - Specialty Chemical Division was established.
- Corporate Excellence Award by Karachi Stock Exchange.

2001
Expansion into Global Markets

- Export Trophy for Export of Non-Conventional Items by FCCI.
- Caustic Soda Plant capacity enhanced to 392 MT/day. (M-3 was incorporated).

- Agriculture Division was established.

2003
Environmental Commitment

- Certified on EMS - Environmental Management System ISO 14001.

2004
Strengthening Chemical Production

- Second Bleaching Powder plant having 12 MT/day capacity was installed.
- M1 technology changed, and Caustic Soda Plant capacity increased to 450 MT/day.

2005
National Recognition & Sustainability

- Awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz by the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for industrialization, humanitarian, and social services.
- Caustic Soda Plant capacity increased to 540 MT/day. Old BMR-II was phased out, and customers were offered Mercury Free products.

2006
Powering the Future

- First Power Plant of 21-76 MW (captive) installed.

2007
Expanding Product Lines

- Second Plant of Ammonium Chloride - having 10 MT/day capacity was established.
- Liquid Carbon Dioxide Plant having 10 MT/day capacity was installed.

2008
Enhancing Energy & Production Efficiency

- Second Power Plant of 7.8 MW captive installed.
- CSP-III Flakes Plant was installed; capacity increased by 72%.

2009
Advancements in Chemical Manufacturing

- SSP-Single Super Phosphate plant established with 10,000 MT annual production capacity.
- CSP-IV Flakes Plant was installed of 100 MT/day, production capacity increased by 220 MT/day.
- Caustic Soda Plant production capacity enhanced to 610 MT/day. (M-4 was incorporated).

2010
Digital Transformation & Social Responsibility

- Transformation of entire IT architecture of the company by implementing SAP ERP.
- Pakistan Center for Philanthropy awarded a certificate in recognition of CSR Services amongst Top 25 Companies of Pakistan.

2011
Industry Recognition & Infrastructure Expansion

- Recognition among Top 100 Tax Payer Companies of Pakistan.
- Export of C/S liquid thorny tankers to India through Wagah Border.
- Installation of Chain Grade Boiler with a capacity of 20 Ton/hour.

2012
Expanding CO₂ Capabilities

- Second Liquid Carbon Dioxide Plant having 20 MT/day capacity was established.

2013
Occupational Safety & Compliance

- Certified on OHSAS - 18001 Occupational Health & Safety Assessment.

- Induction of 40MT Liquid Ring Compressor at Liquid Chlorine Plant.

Powering Self-Sufficiency

- Calcium Chloride Prills 94% plant was installed.
- Inauguration of 40-MW Coal Fired Power Plant (CFPP), another step to self-reliance.

Industry Best Practices & CO₂ Expansion

- 12th EFP Best Practices Award in OSH&E 2016.
- Third Liquid Carbon Dioxide Plant having 50 MT/day capacity established.
- Establishment of Own Fleet Vehicles of CO₂.
